A former tech lead at Twitter and Airbnb, Florian “Flo” Leibert is the founder and chief cloud officer of D2IQ (formerly Mesosphere) in San Francisco, California. In this role, Florian Leibert has helped develop the company’s broad range of technology solutions and services to help clients manage operations and scale their businesses.
One of the clients that D2IQ has helped in automating large-scale data processing is Sovrn, a technology platform that provides advertising tools to publishers who want to engage readers and grow their sites. Previously, Sovrn used a manual process to acquire and provision systems, which slowed down the business process and impaired the resiliency of its infrastructure. Sovrn must enhance its infrastructure capabilities to continuously gather and analyze large volumes of information efficiently, regardless of the amount of traffic.
With D2IQ’s Mesosphere, Sovrn has more flexibility when it comes to orchestrating workloads and deploying tools such as Cassandra and Kafka automatically with a push of a button. At the moment, Sovrn can run up to 18 applications in production, including Apache, Java, and Spark. Mesosphere has provided Sovrn with tailor-made, open-source technologies that deliver real-time data processing and seamless deployment capabilities.
